Welcome to this article that will be talking about whether it’s good to use orchid fertilizers on your air plant. The short answer is basically that it’s perfectly fine to use an orchid fertilizer on the plant.

But there is an important point to be made before you go while using it. The fertilizer that you choose should have a low level of copper in it. This will otherwise cause miscoloring and damage to the air plant.

Follow along in this article and we will continue to discuss and learn about growing and caring for the air plant. It’s a pretty unique-looking plant and a great option if you are looking at getting into gardening at home. It’s generally a hardy houseplant that can manage times without water and a lack of sunlight.

Can I Use Orchid Fertilizer On Air Plants

Like we already said at the beginning of the article here, it’s perfectly fine to use an orchid fertilizer on air plants. It will help keep nasty diseases or insects off the plant and make sure it can grow in peace.

We normally say that using any form of fertilizer that’s not natural is a bad choice. But since we aren’t eating any part of the air plant it’s fine. But we also said there is one important thing we need to check before spraying the air plant.

That is making sure there is not a high level of copper in the fertilizer. This can otherwise make the plant shift in color and cause the leaves to start wilting and curling up even.

Luckily most orchid fertilizers aren’t really that high in copper from the start so we don’t have to worry too much about it. If you are curious about the amount of fertilizer that you can and should use then we recommend doing it every month or so only.

This will keep the plant growing normally without getting dependent on fertilizer in order to encourage growth. It also doesn’t denaturalize the soil that the air plant is growing in.

Can I Use Miracle Grow On My Air Plants

We have already said in this article that it’s perfectly fine to use fertilizers on your air plants, just that you make sure there is not a high level of copper in there. That otherwise causes the plant to turn in color and might even lose leaves.

As for the miracle of growing fertilizers, it’s a very strong variety. So we often recommend diluting it a little bit before you decide to use it. We use a ratio of about 1 part miracle growth and 3 parts of water.

This keeps the plant growing normally without getting dependent on fertilizer. With too high of a dose the next dose won’t have the same impact. Try to keep a schedule of only doing every month or so.

Are the leaves curling on your air plant? In this article here we will be discussing this exact topic, Air Plant Leaves Curling.

What Kind Of Fertilizer Do You On Air Plants

There is a variety of different fertilizers you can use on the air plant. Some of the most common ones will be flower fertilizers or orchid fertilizers. These are made for plants like the one we are growing, air plants.

But try not to use fertilizer too much. There is a limit to how much it can take. Too much and the plant will start wilting instead.
