Grow Pothos Faster

Growing a pothos plant fast will be done by keeping the plant in the most healthy environment possible. For us, this means soil that is kept well watered and a plant that is also kept in the sun a lot during the day.

As for watering the plant the best way we need to look at the texture and condition of the soil before even watering. The soil should be somewhat damp and semi-wet. This is the ideal soil condition for the pothos plant to grow in.

If the soil is not like this, perhaps it’s drier then we recommend you water the soil. But do this in small amounts so we don’t risk overwatering the soil. If that is done then we quickly need to move the plant to a very sunny spot. This is how we can hopefully make the soil dry out a bit quicker and save the roots from drowning.

We also mentioned the importance of keeping the plant in a very sunny spot. This means that the plant needs to get a certain amount of hours of sun each day. Indoors where most people will be keeping their pothos plant, about 8 – 10 hours of sun will be necessary.

But growing the plant outdoors we instead will only be needing about 6 – 8 hours of light. The reason is that the concentration of the sun will be a lot stronger out here as compared to being indoors. So make your choice based on this fact.

Fertilizing the soil has also been a great thing to make a pothos plant grow faster. But overdoing it will instead harm the plant. Fertilizing the soil about 3 – 4 times each year will be plenty enough.

Why Is My Pothos Growing So Slow

A pothos plant might be growing slowly because of a lack of nutrients in the soil. This is often caused by not fertilizing the soil enough during the year. As we mentioned above here, fertilizing the soil about 3 – 4 times each year will be enough.

This will encourage the roots to continue expanding and collecting nutrients for the entire plant to grow. But watering and getting enough sun will also play a vital role in growing a cultivating a pothos plant of course.

Keeping the soil well watered at all times will further encourage the pothos plant. Enough sun will also help the plant a lot. About 8 – 10 hours indoors and 6 – 8 hours of sunlight outdoors will make the plant grow fast.

Not getting these amounts will instead have the plant grow more skinny and not as bushy and large as we would like to.

Are you wondering how often you should be watering a pothos plant? In this article we will be discussing just that, How Often Should I Water A Pothos.

Does Cutting Pothos Make It Grow Faster

Cutting a pothos plant will not make it grow faster. Instead, it will make the overall look of the plant be bushier. But that is not a bad thing. It’s a very common practice and technique when growing plants and herbs at home.

But the important thing is about waiting until you finally start cutting the plant. It should be pretty large before doing anything like that. This way it will probably quickly start growing back and as a more bushy plant too.
