The ZZ plant is a great indoor plant actually. It might not be the most common houseplant out there compared to ones like monstera for example. The plant is resilient to a lot of common diseases and whatnot that might affect other plants.
It will also grow very similarly to other house plants too. It will need healthy soil and a place in your home where it can access sunlight for at least 8 – 10 hours a day. That will help the ZZ plant perform enough photosynthesis to keep the energy supply up for continued growth.

Do ZZ Plants Need A Lot Of Sun
ZZ Plants don’t really need more sunlight than any other plant. Indoors the plant should try and get about 8 – 10 hours each day. That way the plant can get enough exposure without causing any stress to the plant instead.
If the plant is getting too much sunlight then the color will shift to a more yellow hue. Too little color and the color will instead start to fade. Thankfully those are issues that can easily be fixed and generally speaking won’t kill the plant at all.
